Taiwan’s Flying Mouse
May 29, 2006

The Inquirer today picks up on word from the Taiwan Economic News that Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has backing from OEMs for a wireless mouse that "fits on your wrist while you wave your hand around."
"With the 3D device mounted on wrist, users can play interactive computer games and make presentations wirelessly," the article states. "Five joystick suppliers, including KYE Systems Corp. of Taiwan, have approached the laboratory over the licensing deal."
The "flying mouse," designed for "three-dimensional object manipulation," uses Wi-Fi to connect to the PC, and apparently uses one twentieth of the power of the average optical mouse.
Think Minority Report — this is one cool toy.
