Wi-Fi
by jeff goldman on January 11, 2006

From Video Games Blogger and Nintendo DS News comes word (with screenshots!) that Nintendo has announced plans for a March 20th release of Tetris DS, a portable version of the classic game with themes matching other Classics like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda.
The key differentiator here is that, with a Wi-Fi connection, up to 10 players can compete head-to-head on separate devices.
Apparently, that prospect excites some readers, and IGN says online Tetris is already a hit, but I've gotta admit I don't quite see the point -- since Tetris is really a one-player game, isn't that kinda like marketing online solitaire competitions?
