
Nikon today introduced the COOLPIX S52c, a Wi-Fi-enabled 9.0-megapixel camera with image stabilization and a 38-112mm Zoom-Nikkor lens. The camera, which retails for $279.95, will be available in May.
"The S52c's Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to e-mail photos from the camera and upload photo and video files to an online album on Nikon's myPicturetown site or Flickr," explains Popular Photography's Aimee Baldrige.
"This is a great camera for people like me who have a tendency to keep all their photos on their digital camera until the memory is completely full," writes Shiny Shiny's Lucy Hedges. "Now, with the simple press of a button - a Wi-Fi button, to be precise - this will no longer be a burden on your camera's memory."
"The S52c doesn't seem much different to its predecessor, the S51c, which failed to back its clever Wi-Fi ability with sound performance as a camera," notes Crave's Rich Trenholm. "But if the S52c does pull that off, wireless photography may well be on the way..."
