Symbol Technologies and Ekahau today announced the deployment of Ekahau's Real Time Location System (RTLS) at France's La Châtaigneraie clinic.

"The wireless solution incorporates two Symbol WS5100 wireless switches and 30 AP300 access ports, and is used to improve communications in and between its 16 operating rooms," according to a Symbol press release. "The solution will enable staff to locate patients in real-time, help optimize patient flow, reduce waiting times, and manage the patient care process more efficiently."

"The solution deployed at La Châtaigneraie shows how emerging technologies can be used in all markets and not just the traditional business office," says Symbol's Nicolas Segons. "The combined solution provides the clinic with all the information they require to help provide the best possible care to patients. When patients go to private hospitals, they expect the best treatment and service. The use of new technologies can help deliver this."
