TheCloud Announces Free Wi-Fi Access for MySpace Users in the UK

UK Wi-Fi provider The Cloud this week announced a partnership with MySpace to offer free access to MySpace.com at any of The Cloud's more than 7,000 UK locations. It's a limited promotion, running through October.
"MySpace users want to easily communicate with their friends and discover exciting, relevant content wherever they happen to be," says Anthony Lukom, MySpace UK's managing director. "The Cloud now offers them this opportunity in thousands of great locations."
CNET News' Caroline McCarthy is unimpressed. "It would've been an interesting extension of credential portability if social-network logins could be used to access Wi-Fi hot spots that would otherwise require subscriptions," she writes. "But with access limited to MySpace (and what happens if something hosted on an external server is embedded in a MySpace profile?), this deal's usefulness is really limited."
