ThinkGeek's RFID Digital Door Lock - For Dry Climates Only...

CoolestGadgets.com takes a look at ThinkGeek's oh-so-cool $300 RFID Digital Door Lock, and likes what it sees.
"Thanks to the greatness of RFID, your days of turning locks have ended," the article states. "Never again will you be locked out because of forgetting your own keys. In addition to the RFID pad, it has a key pad that can be used to unlock the door (using your secure PIN). If ever your PIN becomes compromised, it's easy to reprogram the PIN number and RFID cards."
In addition to the RFID and keypad access, the lock can be set to dead bolt mode at night, disabling all outside access. If the door is opened forcefully, an alarm sounds -- and if the battery runs down unexpectedly, there are contacts for an external battery.
That all sounds great, even despite the $300 price tag -- but there is one minor issue: it's not, um, weatherproof... the ThinkGeek site warns, "Please note: this lock needs be mounted
such that it will not be exposed to rain/snow."
