Time Warner Cable has announced plans to launch the Time Warner Cable 4G Mobile Network in Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina on December 1st, promising speeds of up to 6 Mbps via Clearwire's mobile WiMAX network.
"Time Warner Cable had previously said it would have the 4G service launched in four markets by the end of the year, which in addition to the North Carolina market includes Dallas," writes Wireless Week's Mike Robuck. "A spokesman for Time Warner Cable said Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii, will launch early next year."
"The new market launches will make Time Warner the third company to resell Clearwire's service as an MVNO," writes FierceWireless' Phil Goldstein. "Clearwire investors Sprint and Comcast already resell mobile WiMAX under their own branded services."
