
T-Mobile has canceled plans to limit 3G data usage on the new G1 Google Android phone to 1GB per month, and now says instead that it is "still finalizing the specific terms for its new data plans," according to Wired's Priya Ganapati.
"It never seemed smart for T-Mo to put a cap on the connection, strangling the G1 before it even got home from the delivery ward," notes CrunchGear's Nicholas Deleon.
"Once T-Mobile determines what the new caps will be, it says, 'We will be certain to share this broadly with current customers and potential new customers,'" writes mocoNews' Tricia Duryee. "But to put 1-or-more gigs into perspective, in the last month I used 553 megabytes on my USB data card for my laptop, which included at least 10 heavy days of usage, meaning all of my email, all of my posting, including uploading photos to the Web..."
