T-Mobile Unveils Two New Prepaid Services

Hot on the heels of Sprint's big announcement of marketing the world's cheapest prepaid minutes through Walmart, T-Mobile has announced that it will start offering two unlimited prepaid plans immediately to target the fast-growing segment of cost-conscious consumers that don't want to sign long-term contracts.
The company says one plan will cost $15 a month and comes with unlimited text, picture and video messaging with nationwide calls for 10 cents a minute. The other option, for $50 a month, removes the per-minute fees for unlimited calling.
Prepaid service, once a niche segment, targeted customers who didn't have strong enough credit to qualify for contracts but with a recession tightening consumer budgets, the draw of cheaper payments, no contracts and no termination fees has been gaining much wider appeal.
