Trying to Destroy the G'zOne Type-V

At Fredricksburg.com, Michael Zitz today takes a look at Verizon Wireless' new G'zOne Type-V Rugged Phone by Casio.
"Casio made the phone compliant to military standards including exposure to temperatures in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit, extreme vibration, solar radiation, conditions set to simulate storm conditions of two inches of rainfall per hour with high winds, and submersion in one meter of water," he writes.
Challenged by the promise that the phone is "indestructible," Zitz says, he decided to do his best to destroy it -- and his efforts to do so make for a pretty entertaining story. He punted the phone across the newsroom. He placed it under running water. He poured hot coffee on it. He put it in the washing machine. He threw it at a hardwood floor. He even dropped the phone from his balcony onto an asphalt parking lot 20 feet below.
Zitz's conclusion? "Impressive."
