Ultrawideband at CES

Filed in archive Ultrawideband by jeff goldman on January 05, 2006

Ultrawideband technology is having something of a coming-out party at CES this year -- and despite the WiMedia Alliance's assurances to the contrary, Freescale Semiconductor is still going strong with the UWB forumlinks's take on the technology.

And so the battle between the two standards -- the UWB Forum's DS-UWB and the WiMedia Alliance's MB-OFDM -- continues. I gotta admit I thought the WiMedia Alliance was winning hands down, but Freescale clearly has a lot of fight left in them.

So it's like VHS vs. Beta all over again... and again... and again... and it's still anyone's guess who'll win.
