Wi-Fi Networking News' Glenn Fleishman reports that Skyhook Wireless' Wireless Positioning System (WPS) will be incorporated into chips from GPS silicon supplier SiRF Technology, resulting in a combo GPS/WPS solution that offers greater accuracy than has previously been available.
"It's the leading GPS chip company saying yes, there are important areas where GPS doens't work great, and Skyhook is the answer to it," says Skyhook CEO Ted Morgan, who notes that the combined products could start to arrive as soon as Q3 2007.
