Watch Out for Flying Pigs: iPod Copying Zune
Filed in archive Wi-Fi by jeff goldman on July 12, 2007

Talk about a reversal: Wired Blogs' Eliot Van Buskirk reports today that the iPod and/or iPhone may soon be mimicking the microsoft zune
.
"Zune-style wireless music sharing could be coming soon to an iPod and/or iPhone near you," Van Burskirk writes. "One way it would work is similar to the way iTunes currently works, in that your device would find other Apple players on any wireless network and access their music. However, unlike iTunes, the portable devices would be able to send music files to each other (as opposed to streaming them), as well as making requests for music a la P2P services."
Still, all these rumors are based purely on an Apple patent application... and we all know how trustworthy those can be.
