The Korea Times reports that both KT and SK Telecom are planning to launch WiBro service this Friday, June 30th in parts of Seoul.
"We seek to debut WiBro services in five areas in Seoul and its vicinity," says KT spokesman Cho Chul-je. "In the beginning, subscribers can enjoy the video-on-the-go services on a laptop equipped with a WiBro card."
SK Telecom has a similar plan, starting with laptop cards and working towards WiBro-enabled PDAs and smartphones as they arrive on the market.
"WiBro sign-up is possible at our agencies in [Seoul]," says SK Telecom spokesman Do Hoon. "We will extend the coverage step by step."
