Wi-Fi Camera + Web Browser = Sony Cyber-shot DSC-G3
Filed in archive Wi-Fi on January 9, 2009

At CES this week, Sony introduced the Cyber-shot DSC-G3, the first Wi-Fi camera with a Web browser.
"Eat that, Eye-Fi," writes Tech Digest's Duncan Geere. "You can log onto a wireless hotspot and surf the Web to your heart's content... Sony provides an Easy Upload homepage, with quick links to Shutterfly, Picasa, Dailymotion, Photobucket and YouTube (no Flickr?) ..."
"The G3's 4GB of internal memory is pretty generous and the large screen is great for viewing," writes TechRadar's Mark Harris. "The G3 comes with Easy Export software to save thousands of (resized) images from your PC to the camera, so you can carry your photo albums with you all the time."
But Wi-Fi Net News' Glenn Fleishman is unimpressed. "If there's two things that digital photographers want, it's another photograph/video upload interface to learn and configure, and the ability to type in user names and passwords into a tiny tiny tiny Web browser," he writes. "Goodness knows, I've been waiting for that..."
The 10.1-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-G3 is available now for $499.99.
