Wireless USB is Coming! Wireless USB is Coming!

This week, the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) announced the first six consumer products to be certified for Certified Wireless USB.
The products include the Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop, the Lenovo ThinkPad T61 laptop, the D-Link DUB-1210 Wireless USB Adapter and DUB-2240 4-Port Wireless USB Hub, and the IOGEAR Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit.
I've been writing articles about this stuff for Jupitermedia's Ultrawideband Planet for three years now - it's nice to think that it might actually be getting somewhere... as Wired's David Becker puts it, "After years of 'any day now,' it looks like we'll actually be able to get our hands on Wireless USB gear."
More here from InfoWorld ... more here from Techlogg ... more here from ZDNet ... more here from EE Times ... more here from Ars Technica ... and the press release is here.
