Yahoo! Messenger On-the-Road to Include Free Wi-Fi

MacWorld's Juan Carlos Perez reports today that Yahoo! is considering giving users of its Yahoo! Messenger service free access to Wi-Fi hotspots so they can use the company instant messaging and voice services.
"Yahoo recently polled users about this possible new service, which the Sunnyvale, Calif. company calls Yahoo! Messenger
On-the-Road, but it has no 'imminent plans' to provide this service, a Yahoo! spokeswoman said Wednesday via e-mail," Perez writes.
TechCrunch recently posted a screenshot of the Yahoo! user survey indicating the possibility of the Yahoo! Messenger On-the-Road service. A Premium version is also being considered that would allow full Web access at hotspots for $7.95 per month. That's a pretty great deal, compared to most competing subscription services.
