YouGov Survey Finds UK Users Want More Wi-Fi

El Reg's Bill Ray reports that a YouGov survey of 253 Wi-Fi users, sponsored by T-Mobile UK, found that just about everyone wants more Wi-Fi access.
Half of respondents want more Wi-Fi-equipped trains, about a third want more Wi-Fi in public parks
, and 25 percent want it on the subway. 13 percent say they want Wi-Fi at the beach.
"Given that users were so keen to have connectivity in shopping centres (37 per cent) and on public transport, it might seem surprising that users spend an average of two hours signed in to a hotspot," Ray writes. "Either they really like shopping, spend a lot of time delayed on the train, or those long sessions logged on in hotels are pushing the average up."
Why do they want such omnipresent access? 45 percent say they use it to keep in touch with friends and family, and 30 percent say it allows them to better balance work and family life.
